International Master Keaton Kiewra worked with 10 engaged students for two full days during Chessmates school out camp for winter break! Going over all kinds of deep positional ideas and plans that will help them at the state championship coming up in February!
Coach Zach worked with 12 dedicated players working on chess strategy as well. Focusing on endgames and tactics. There was lots of games, drills and competitions throughout camp.
It wasn’t all hard work as there was some bughouse fun and some puzzle rush going on throughout the day! Shoutout to Ben Myers for puzzle rush high score 30 and to Ben and Sam Myers for beating everyone at bughouse! Also to our blitz tournament winners which were Aiden Sirotkine, Ben Myers and Charles Zhang!
We are looking forward to our pre-state schools out camp in February and excited to have coach Keaton back for our 10th annual summer camp this year.
