Fall 2019 Tournaments

September 23, 2019 by Carolyn

Our Fall 2019 Chess Tournament dates are now finalized. Mark your calendars for
October 19, November 2, and December 21.

Tournaments are held at Council Tree Covenant Church – 4825 S Lemay Ave.

You can register here: Chess Tournament

**Registration Cut-Off is the Thursday before a tournament.
Day of registration will still occur, HOWEVER you will get an automatic bye round one.

Our sections are: K-1st grade,  2nd grade, 3rd grade, 4th grade, 5th grade, 6th-8th grade, rated 800-1000, rated 1000-1200 and rated all 1200+.
If we do not have at least 8 players we will have to combine sections.
If you are unsure of your section please sign up under your grade and we will move you if need be.

We have quite a few changes this year.

Lunch:  Lunch will not be provided please bring a pack lunch, or plan to bring lunch back to the venue for participants. There is not enough time between rounds to eat lunch at a restaurant and come back in time for your round.

Concessions: There will be no concession table this year either.

USCF ID:  Grade sections do not have to register for USCF this year.
If our rating system puts you above 800, we will move you up to the next section and have you become a United States Chess Federation member.

Players rated 800 and above must have a valid and current USCF ID. If you are not sure, don’t worry about it we will let you know if you need one.
***We are no longer renewing USCF IDs***
To renew please visit uschess.org

K-1 section: 9am-Noon.
5 rounds that are 30 minutes each.
Trophies right after last round.

The rest of the sections will participate until around 2:30 pm.

We’re looking forward to another fantastic season of tournaments.
