Our next tournament, December 1, begins our Team Tournament.
Team Tournaments are fun and easy! All that is needed is players from the same school entering as individuals in our monthly tournaments. Together, individual scores make up a team score.
Teams can be any size, but only the top 3 players from each team score points for the school team.
Team prizes are 1st-3rd in elementary and middle school, and 1st place in High school.
A team gets 1 point for every player that wins on your team and .5 points for every draw. (Remember only your top 3 players scores count for your total team score.)
Teams have to attend the same school. Homeschoolers may play on school of choice, but must stick with same team through the year.
Homeschoolers may also play on a team together if they are a family, or go to school with each other.
In case of a tie, we will use team tie breakers by the computer.
If your team wins you get a cool Trophy that goes to your school!
Please note: You may not help your teammates in any way during the tournament they have to play their own chess games.
There are still individual prizes, but team competition is included! So you can win yourself a trophy and one for the school.
