When did you start playing Chess? Why?
I started when I was eleven but didn’t really commit until twelve or thirteen. It was kind of just an interest of mine
How old were you when you first beat your parent?
My parents don’t play chess so I was really the only one who did in the family.
What is your most memorable game?
When I drew against GM Alexander Fishbein in a simul.
What is your favorite piece? Why?
Probably the bishop because it’s so versatile and has gotten me many tactics.
Is your favorite part of the game opening, middle game, or endgame?
My favorite part is the middle game where all the attacking happens.
Whats your favorite chess opening?
The Max Lange Attack.
Are you more of an aggressive or defensive chess player? Explain.
I’m more aggressive because I love attacking and finding tactics.
What is your favorite chess memory?
When I went 5-1 and got third at state in 2015.
What is your goal for your chess in the next year or two years?
To get my rating up to 1700, or 1800.
What is your favorite chess book?
Winning With the Giuoco Piano and the Max Lange by Andrew Soltis.
How do you think chess most helps you in day to day life?
It helps me keep my mind sharp and acts as a break from school when I play bullet or blitz.
What do you enjoy besides chess?
I enjoy swimming a lot.
