Payments

Payment is required prior to starting club. We ask that everyone register online, or make arrangements for a check or cash. We will try our hardest in the first couple weeks of chess clubs to let parents know of non-payment and rectify any failed payment. After that we will send students to after school care if available. If not we it will result in your child sitting out of lessons and practice time.

Refunds

Any participant in a Chessmates may receive a refund, excluding required processing fees, until after the second class is completed. After the second class there will be no refunds granted, or partial credits given, for any reason.

Late Pick Up

Club runs from the time stated on the website. Our instructors are busy and cannot stay late weekly to wait for late Parents/Guardians. If a parent or guardian is more than 15 minutes late we will send kids to After school care, or ask the office to wait with them. If this happens we will give you a warning. If this happens more than once it will result in your student being unenrolled without refund.

PSD Cancellations/Snow Days

Whether it be a snow day, or another reason, we follow the PSD policy for cancellations. If after school activities are cancelled by PSD, Chessmates Clubs are cancelled. We will try and email parents to let them know, but it is best to check the PSD Facebook Page, or our Facebook Page.

We will make up one class, but after that there will be no make up. Once we’ve arrange with the school and district the make up date, we will email parents at the email address provided during registration.

For more information regarding the PSD policies/cancellations, or their snow day policy please see refer to their Homepage and/or Inclement Weather Page.

Bad Behaviour/Unsportsmanship

Chessmates promotes Sportsmanship. We expect all our players to be polite to all participants in the club. We enforce this strictly. If we have a student who is not treating others around them well, a message will be sent to their parents about the issues and what we need to do to fix the behavior. If behavior becomes a recurring issue we will unenroll the student from chess club without refund.

We will be following all rules and policies of the district.
