Sami is in the 8th Grade. Let’s learn more about him!
When did you start playing Chess? Why?
I started chess when I was 8 but I understood the game when I was 9 the reason why I started was because I was influenced by my brothers Jasom and Caled.
How old were you when you first beat your parent?
I never actually played my parents because they did not understand how to play but if we are really being technical I taught my mom a year and a half ago and I beat her last year blind folded.
What is your most memorable game?
My game between me and alexander marsh I think it was in the 2015 winter springs open i was white and I won
What is your favorite piece? Why?
the knight because I love the way it maneuvers around the board and can control the key squares
Is your favorite part of the game opening, middle game, or endgame?
The opening
Whats your favorite chess opening?
The drunken king
What is your favorite chess memory?
When I played for a chess team full of 1700s and 2000s and none of them wanted me on their cause they thought I would lose but I was 1100 and I drew a 1700 and an 1800 and was the only one who scored any pointers
What is your goal for your chess in the next year or two years?
Become a 2000 in two years probably
What is your favorite chess book?
Chess strategy by Edward Lasker
How do you think chess most helps you in day to day life?
It helps me plan what is going to come next
What do you enjoy besides chess?
Soccer
